Pencoed and District Choral Society was formed in 1970 by the late John Davies who was the conductor until his sudden death in 1983. It celebrated its 40th Anniversary during 2010 and is  now working on a number of new pieces of music.

The choir has about 30 members drawn from Pencoed and the surrounding areas and is always ready to welcome new members – especially MEN.

A Choir well versed in choral technique and capable of making a beautiful sound is the general observation made by audiences at the end of concerts.

Since its formation the choir has performed on radio and television, in St Davids Hall, Cardiff and taken part in the One Thousand Voices in the Royal Albert Hall on three occasions. The most recent radio broadcast was at Christmas 2008.

The Society has performed many Concerts for charity and continues to do so using a wide repertoire of songs to suit particular venues and occasions.

A feature of the Choir’s programme is the preparation and performance of a CANTATA for Christmas and Easter in most but not every year. Please see Concerts page for this year’s programme.

For the last two years the Choir has also participated in “CHOIRS IN THE CASTLE” in Coity Castle and were delighted to perform there again  in 2010.
